Born in Sunbury, PA on 24, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Cyrus F. and Mary (Foltz) Kline and had lived on Scenic Dr. in Portland for over 20 years before moving to Middletown. Before retiring, Helen was sales clerk and bookkeeper for C.G. Spaulding Co.

in Middletown. She was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Portland. Besides her loving husband, she is survived by two daughters, Angela M. Robinson of Middletown and Claire A. Cannata of Cromwell; a brother, William Kline of Sunbury, PA; a sister, Annie Sue Broome of Sunbury, PA; several grandchildren; greatgrandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Michael A. Cannata; and a sister, Evelyn Kline. Funeral services will be held on Monday, 1 p.m. in the Trinity Episcopal Church, Portland with Rev. Tara Soughers presiding.

CHAISSON, Jean Paul, Jr. Jean Paul Chaisson, 65, of Granby died Thursday, (June 12, 2003) at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford after a brief illness. Born on April 5, 1938 in North Woodstock, NH, he was son of the late Jean Paul and Edith L.

(Hill) Chaisson. Paul worked for United Airlines for 37 years and enjoyed his retirement years at his cabin in Derby, VT. COULOMBE, Raoul J. "Lu" Raoul J. "Lu" Coulombe, 78, of Sodus, NY died Sunday' (June 1, 2003). He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jean (MacDonald) Coulombe; three sons, five grandchildren; three great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Lu was born in Maine, grew up in Hartford, and served as a Navy Medical Corpsman assigned to Company, 2nd Batallion, 23rd Reg. of the 4th Marine Division in World War II. Windsor, formerly of Warwick, RI, a registered nurse who became a nursing supervisor before retiring, died Thursday, (June 12, 2003) at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. Born in Providence, RI, a daughter of Deena (Metz) Diwinsky of S. Windsor and the late Morris Diwinsky, she had been a resident of Warwick for 20 years before moving to S. Windsor.

She received her nursing certification from Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, MA. She worked as a nurse for 30 years serving as a nursing supervisor for 20 of those years at the former Pawtuxet Nursing Home in Warwick. In recent years she was involved with the South Windsor Senior Center. Besides her mother, she leaves a brother and sisterin-law, Gordon and Linda Diwinsky of South Windsor; two nephews, David Diwinsky of Vernon, and Marc and his wife Shay Diwinsky of Ellington; and a very special great niece, Leah Paige Diwinsky. He was born in Southbridge, MA, and resided in Stafford Springs most of his life where he attended the local area schools and graduated from Stafford High School.

Bob was employed by various security companies throughout the Connecticut and Massachusetts area. He was a very charitable person, especially for needy children. Bob is survived by his parents, George E. and Margery E. (Rusby) Cody of Stafford Springs; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He leaves behind his wife, Cheryl (Burns) Dent and his daughter, Christina Elizabeth Dent. He is survived by his brother, Lindley R. Dent, of West Chester, PA; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas J. O'Connell, of Lancaster, PA.

He was a decorated Vietnam veteran serving with the U.S. Airforce. He was a member of the American Legion Post member and past president of the Sons of the American Revolution, Israel Putnam Branch and distinguished member of the Society of the Cincinnati. In November of 1990, he became a member of the Sons of Union Veterans, Alden Skinner Camp serving a number of offices including past president. He was recently elected commander of the Connecticut Department of the Sons of Union Veterans.

Ross became the founder and executive director of the New England Civil War Museum housed in the G.A.R. Hall on the second floor of Vernon's Town Hall. He also instituted the Historical Library and worked for the preservation of Vernon's Civil War history. Under the auspices of Alden Skinner Camp he acquired a number of Civil War artifacts belonging to Col. Thomas F.

Burpee, as well as other military and historical memorabilia. A self-taught historian and brilliant orator, Ross distinguished himself as a guest lecturer on many subjects, including Civil War and G.A.R history, the American Revolution, the American Wild West, and America's involvement in World War II. He loved history and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with adults and students alike. Through this appreciation of history, he created Vernon's Social Studies Fair, in order to promote his philosophy, "You can't know where you're going if you don't know your past' A lifelong resident of Vernon, he worked tirelessly to preserve the history of Old Rockville. He was most proud of establishing the newly erected War Monument in the center of Vernon and most recently, he completed the identification of all of Vernon's Spanish-American War Veterans.

A graveside service will be held Monday, June 16, 10 a.m. at Valley Falls Cemetery, Vernon. FALKOWSKI, Adolph S. Adolph S. Falkowski, 77, of Clark St. Easthampton, MA died Wednesday (June 11, 2003) at home. He leaves his wife, Margaret "Rita" (Brown) Falkowski; his two sons, Theodore Falkowski and Steven Falkowski of Suffield; Brother of Walter Falkowski, Dorothy Hyjek, Celia Polek, Romualda Dzwilewski and Eleanor Ragno; several grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Theresa Falkowski who died in 1983; and his sisters, Stella Ziemimnski and Gladys Gminski. Edward Stanley Deren, 77, of Suffield, beloved husband for 54 years of Ruth (Canfield) Deren, died at his home on Tuesday, (June 10, 2003) after a short illness, surrounded by his family. Born in Chicopee, MA, son of Stanley and Katherine Deren, he had lived in Suffield for the last 54 years.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the Pacific Theatre with the 404th Signal Division of the Army Air Corps and was discharged as a staff sergeant in 1946. A retiree of Kaman Aerospace in Bloomfield, Edward retired as a master scheduler after over 30 years of service. He was a member of the Landry Sic Post V.F.W. in Suffield and the Chicopee Lodge of Elks B.P.O.E. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Martin E.

He was born in Johnstown, PA, on March 1, 1931, the son of Anna Gritzer. Joseph was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with an Aeronautical Engineering Degree, and received a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Connecticut. He was employed by Pratt Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford, as the Director of International Marketing with 33 years of service. He was instrumental in laying the ground work for future contracts throughout the Asia Pacific Region. In addition, his accomplishments included travel throughout the world.

He retired in 1986 and subsequently moved to Twin Mountain, NH to ski and enjoy his retirement years. Joseph was astute in the knowledge of astronomy, which included a telescope to monitor the universe and solar system. His love of sports included all, but his his favorite team was the Cleveland Browns. Family members include his wife, Claire (Benoit) Gritzer of Twin Mountain, NH; two sons, Thaddeus J. Gritzer of East Hartford, and Joseph J.

Gritzer of South Windsor; and a daughter, Claudia A. Gritzer of East Hartford. Funeral services will be private. She has blessed the lives of her 14 and 31 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Antonino Giarratana.

Antonina had a love for her family, friends and playing Italian card games, "Briscola" We will miss her ever-present aura of motherhood, friendship and zest for life, that has deeply touched us all. The Giarratana family wishes to thank the Doctors, Nurses and entire Staff of Hartford Hospital, especially the 4th floor of the Conklin Building Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 a.m from the Giuliano-Sagarino Funeral Home at BROOKLAWN, 511 Brook Street, Rocky Hill followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Augustine Church, Hartford, at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Floridia, Sicily, Italy at a later date. Southbury, a former Westport resident, died Sunday (June 8, 2003) with his family by his side after a battle with cancer. Born in Burton-on-Trent, Great Britain, on January 21, 1939, he was the only son of the late Arthur Frederick Kilbourn and Ena Rosie (Tarbatt) Kilbourn. He was a Westport resident for 12 years before moving to New Jersey and then to Heritage Village in Southbury. Barry was a recently retired chemist of MolyCorp, a division of Unocal of California.

Previously, he worked for ICI while living in England and Belgium. Prior to attending university, Barry voluntarily joined the RAF as a Radar Specialist. A graduate of Oxford University with a D.Phil. in Chemistry, Barry went on to do post graduate work at the ETH in Zurich, Switzerland. He then went to work in several European countries prior to coming to the U.S.

with his family in 1981. Barry loved the sciences, reading, traveling, photography, orienteering, hiking and table tennis. He also spoke three languages fluently, and enjoyed learning many others while traveling around the world. He was passionate about spending time his family locally and abroad. Survivors include Johanna "Hans" Kilbourn of Norwalk; his daughter, Kirsten "Kiko" Kilbourn and son-in-law, Matthew Kilbourn of South Windsor.

His other daughter, Annelisa "Lisa" Kilbourn, predeceased Barry on November 2, 2002 while working in Gabon, Africa. A memorial gathering will be held Sunday, June 15, at the Compo Boat House (Compo Beach Marina), Compo Beach Road, Westport, between 5-8 p.m where friends and family will be assembling to remember his life.
